OPINION GROUP FROM GDAŃSK: DAILY LIFE

Young people mostly buy clothes or something electronical. We buy it because we want to look cool or to pose. But do they know something more about them, except how to wash them or use them?
I usually buy clothes in H&M or Primark. I know that  clothes from H&M are made in Asia or Africa, but I know reality. There aren’t good conditions. But I’ve read that  H&M strives for better workplaces. But Primark has ethical trading; they employ people from other countries, they care about women’s health and they give them lessons. Also, their clothes have very good quality so I really like them.

In polish school we learn how to read labels and understand them. But sometimes I just don’t know. I mean, I know how to wash clothes or clean shoes but I can’t understand one thing. On the label there is sing „All natural” or „from only ecological fabrics” but on the same label there are „made from toxic or plastic fabrics”.  It makes me (and not only me) so confused.

Eco-style to live is lifestyle, which I think that shoul be more popular in Poland. It means for me to live in harmony with the Earth. And with other people too, of course. But it means that we should buy only ecological food, not junk. From small shops, not big supermarkets. We should buy clothes from natural and ecological fabrics or from second-hands.  Try to safe the energy, light and water. There are small things we can do to live in Eco-Style.

We can choose food in reuse packets and boxes. We can buy  food in greengroceries, not in supermarkets. We can take material bags or baskets and not takes plastic bags!

Opinion about Daily Life, Team 4-Gdańsk

Opinion, Team 4-Gdańsk (Ania Krzemińska, Martyna Wiloch and Zuzia Bastrzyk)
In our opinion creating a toxic pollution is damaging for our global environment. Nowadays there are many
ways of making good garments. We think that an ecological way is better for us. Beauty doesn't mean evil for us and for the nature! Remember: Be cool, be ECO!

The boys Group 3, from Gdansk, giving opinions!!!

We didn't know anything about either Detox campaign or Fashion Manifesto.
We weren't aware of the pollution caused by the clothes' production.
Now we know more about it and we support it.
We don't want water pollution, we live near the sea like you so it's even more important to us.

Thanks for the informations :)

Jan Eljasiak, Alexander Jankowski, Jakub Gregorczyk, Krzysztof Walentukiewicz - Group 3.

We haven't heard about eco-labels, but we think that it's possible to stop poisoning waterplace around the world. We, as the teenagers don't look at  labels in shops but we should. Now we know more about eco-labels and the dangers of the natural environment. We should be more choosy when we buy goods. And this is our opinion about eco-labels :)

OPINIONS FROM MANISES. Group 5

We don't know anything about eco-labels.
We usually buy clothes but we don't know how the manufacturers do them, which products they use....
When we buy clothes we only look at the brand, we don't look at the label.
Many fashion brands use chemical products and they poison the rivers, the sea...
We don't know Detox campaign of Greenpeace.
This campaign invites the people to buy natural clothes,eco-labels....
We can do something like buy natural clothes, look at the labels and not at the brands...

About facebook and brands...a curiosity...

What are the brands with the highest number of followers on Facebook?

Thanks to Fan Page List tool we know Facebook pages with the highest number of followers. In addition to actors, politicians, athletes or series, brands have found a place in the largest social network in the world. Facebook not only holds the title of most popular network, but also is the most followed brand, with more than nine million fans.
Another online brand contained in the top ten is YouTube, which ranks fourth, while we have to go to 21 to find Google. Curiously, Apple did not find in the list, but that's because the Cupertino company does not have its own page on Facebook. Microsoft, for example, it does, but it is not the most popular brands, appearing in the 99th.

1) Facebook (9,024,542 fans)
2) Starbucks (7,217,370 fans)
3) Coca-Cola (5,529,595 fans)
4) YouTube (5,082,221 fans)
5) Disney (3,475,487 fans)
6) Victoria's Secret (3,436,811 fans)
7) Converse (2,743,227 fans)
8) McDonald's (2,260,698 fans)
9) H & M (2,045,964 fans)

Opinion group 2- Manises

We are working in this topic because it's very unknown for us; we don't look at the labels and only appreciate the apperences and brands. Brands are important in the teeneger time and we don't think in any problems around the manufacturing them

Opinion Team 6 Manises

We have never hear about eco labels; in our occidental countries we usually buy clothes without idea about the bad laboural conditions that people normally are having. We don't know anything about Detox campaing of Greenpeace. This campain make attention about toxic quimical products that the factories use to make clothes whose impact is the pollution of the water.

We as consumers should  buy  being conscious  of all these problems and look for ecolabels in shops because they are committed with the environment conditions.

To be aware: Toxic water pollution and clothes

1-Do you know what The Detox campaign is?

The Detox campaign launched in 2011 to expose the direct links between global clothing brands, their suppliers and toxic water pollution around the world. Fieldwork and investigations in manufacturing countries, along with the testing of branded garments for traces of hazardous chemicals, resulted in the release of groundbreaking reports that exposed the toxic truth behind our clothes.

2- Do you know what  the Fashion Manifesto is?

It's a global movement of fashionistas, activists, designers and bloggers united by a belief that beautiful fashion shouldn't cause toxic pollution. They want the clothes we wear to be as stylish and authentic as we are. This is the Detox Fashion Manifesto:
  1. We believe that brands and suppliers must act immediately to stop poisoning waterways around the world with hazardous chemicals.
  2. We recognise that this will not happen over night, and want brands and suppliers to be transparent about what chemicals they are releasing into the environment on the road toward toxic-free fashion. It is our water, we have a right to know.
  3. We believe in rewarding and collaborating with honest and progressive suppliers and brands, and will encourage others to do the same.

Getting the second topic: Daily Life

The concept of Responsible Consumption covers many areas of our daily life. Besides food, also clothing, footwear, cosmetics ...  different brands; We can think about the ethical, solidarity and responsibility consumption.

We seek an Ethical, Social and Solidarity Consumption: rampant in our societies brands of clothing and footwear, with factories in developing countries with objectionable working conditions. We seek alternatives to achieve the development of these countries with fair wages, eliminating discrimination in the workplace, while also looking for an Ecological Consumption: Natural fabrics compared with artificial production of which  involving environmental pollution. Reduce, Recycle, Reuse

With this new approach to getting a new international economic order fairer rights, in both as in salaries as living conditions.

  1. What are the brands you buy? and why?
  2. Do you know how to interpret the information on the labels of clothes and shoes?
  3. Do you know what is the Eco-Style to live?
  4. How we can contribute to preserve our nature in our quotidian shoppings?

Let's go to think about it!!
