Giving opinions about energy. Spanish Team

Hello everybody from Valencia!!!!

Nowaday, we waste a lot of energy that we don't need; water, electricity, batteries, paper... we could live with less of them. The result of our behaviours, consequences of this kind of life is the pollution, the greenhouse effect, fires of the forests and a lot of rubbish
We have to change our habits at home:

                             Reduce Your Consumption

  1. Turn down the thermostat.
  2. Minimize the number of times you open the oven, refrigerator and freezer doors, or remove a lid from a pot
  3. Wash economically. Only use the washing machine when you have collected a full load
  4. Reuse water coming out of the tap that would drain otherwise. When you turn on the tap to wait for hot water, for example, put a container under the tap until the water is warm enough and then use the water in the container to water plants or use for other purposes.
  5. Turn off appliances and lighting. Turn off any appliances you are not using, especially by switching off lights when you leave the room.Turn off your computer

RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION!!! it is our turn!!

To solve the problem about wasting energies,we can do things like:

Use energy saving lamps and solar panels, although this is more difficult because not anybody can use them in their house.
We should have a shower and not a bath because when we have a bath we spend more water than when we have a shower, about 200 l. and when we have a shower only 100 l.
Turn off the tap while we are soaping, shaving, brushing our teeth ...and we can use a glass when we brush our teeth.
Don't let the water run and use it only when we really need it.
If we have dishwasher and washer we should use them only when they are full.
We can recycling using recycled paper, and we can have some different bins at home to throw the rubbish (paper,organic,cardboard,pastic,glass...)

I think we use too much new technologies (because we can do many things easierly with them) and electricity at home and we don't care about it. If we do little things like these we can save energies at home.

Saving energy at home!

Change a Light, Change the World

We really can "Change the World" with just one light bulb. The key is that the more  people that take this step, the more we can change the world.

Fight the Light!

Don't leave lights on when no one is in the room. If you are going to be out of the room for more than five minutes, turn off the light.
If you know of a light that everyone forgets to turn off, make a sticker or a sign to hang next to the switch that says "Lights Out!" or "Don't Forget!"
Where possible, use compact fluorescent light bulbs. Those funny-looking bulbs produce the same amount of light by using 1/4 of the electricity. Plus, they last for years and years without burning out.

Don't Leave Things Turned On

Turn off the TV when no one is watching it. The same goes for computers, radios and stereos - if no one using it, turn it off. Turn off all the appliances at the surge protector/control strip - that four- or six-plug extension chord that you plug all your computer things into. Some devices, like modems or other networking boxes are drawing small amounts of power all the time. Check with your folks first, but the best thing to do is turn them ALL off at the surge protector.

Working on the project... the fourth topic: Energies at home

What energy do you waste at home...? Do you  think about if you usually use too much water, electricity, batteries, air conditioning, heating...?
Do you recycling?
