My favourite places in Gdańsk part 1

 Gdańsk                      The Old Town

The Neptune’s Fountain
It was built between 1606-1615.  This monument was created by architect Abraham Van Den Blocke.  The weight is 650 kg. It is very solid.  This is a figure of Romans God, father of the oceans, Neptune.  It was damaged on II War World but it was quickly repaired.

The Golden Gate
It was built in 1612.  It was designed by architect Abraham Van Den Blocke and was constructed by Jan Strakowski. On the Gate there are 8 sculpture which were made by Jeremisz Falck.  The Figures on West  represent peace, liberty, happiness and fame. The Figures on East represent harmony, godliness, wisdom and fairness.

The  Crane
It is situated between Motława(small canal from Baltic) and Gold Gate. The Crane was built between 1442-1444. Today it is used to load a ship.  It can bring up 4 tones. The Crane was burnt when Red Army got a city.  After the II War World it was repaired.
